Empowering the next generation of African thinkers, entrepreneurs, artists and more …

Look and see just a bit of our highlights!

Afa's journey began in 2015, evolving from Teen Tate, a simple blog about African current events, into a comprehensive platform celebrating the entire African continent.

Since then, we've spoken at universities across three continents, won global competitions, collaborated with changemakers and politicians, been featured in academic journals, and even got invited to former South African President Thabo Mbeki's birthday!

Join us as we continue moving forward. Your purchase of study packs or merchandise directly supports our growth and keeps AFA alive. We have so much more in store!

TRINITY COLLEGE DUBLIN

Speaking with Professors

Engaging with leading academics is a priority for AFA. At this event, we had the privilege of speaking with Dr. Mary Philomena Mullen, Assistant Professor of Black Studies, and were grateful for the valuable insights she shared. We were especially honoured to have her address the 70 students in attendance, contributing to the rich exchange of ideas that took place.

The woman on the left has brown skin, wavy hair, and is dressed in a floral patterned jacket, while the woman on the right has dark skin, a colorful headwrap, and a patterned dress.

BLACK & IRISH X RTE AWARDS

AFA Ambassadors in Ireland proudly represented our organisation at the prestigious Black & Irish x RTÉ Awards. We were invited as special guests in recognition of our achievement as runner-ups for Community Organisation of the Year in the previous year’s awards.

This invitation was a particular honour, highlighting how AFA’s impact has grown beyond the African continent and is now being recognised on an international stage.

Invited to the Thabo Mbeki Birthday Celebration

AFA had the honour of being invited to an exclusive event that brought together a select group of delegates from across the world, including educational activists like ourselves.

This engagement was not our only connection with the Thabo Mbeki Foundation. We have also held collaboration talks with the Foundation regarding the inclusion of AFA’s AI and VR creations in the library they are currently developing. Furthermore, AFA was privileged to be represented at an event attended by President Thabo Mbeki himself.
